This simple question became the starting point for Ron Benning’s career in sales.


He was only eight years old at the time and was trying to earn enough money to buy a G.I. Joe action figure. His parents wanted him to learn the value of a dollar and decided to have him save his own money to buy it. Since they lived near several cherry orchards, Ron quickly put two and two together and found his ticket to success. By going door-to-door and selling the cherries he received from local farmers, he earned more than enough money to purchase the toy on the very first day.


But this story is more than just a cute anecdote from his childhood growing up in Northern California. It’s really a lesson in the value of a hard day’s work and how it marked the beginning of Ron’s personal drive to succeed. From that moment on, Ron knew anything was possible if he was willing to put his mind to it. People that know Ron will often joke that he was born to succeed because it was so apparent early on that he had a tremendous work ethic and a creative mind for business. Yet, while Ron always felt he would do well in business, he knows his personal success is really just a result of hard work and applying himself to the task at hand.


This story was only the beginning for Ron. He eventually moved on to a job with McDonald’s as many young kids do. But Ron wasn’t content with this part-time job and set his sights on becoming a manager by the age of 18. Through dedication and perseverance, he became one of the youngest shift managers in the franchise’s history and eventually went into their management program after receiving his business degree from California State University, Sacramento. Yet, he quickly realized that he wanted more out of life than a management position within a large corporation. Because his strength was always in sales and working face to face with people, he decided to embark on a career in the real estate industry at the age of only 21.


After just four years in the industry, Ron’s drive to succeed once again pushed him to pursue a greater challenge. Along with two other partners, he opened up his own real estate firm in downtown Sacramento.  Ron was fortunate to have two of the greatest partners any man could ask for  Brian Kassis, and Jim Natz. But once again, that same old nagging feeling of destiny kept eating away at him until March of 2002 when Ron bought the remaining shares of the company.

 Now finally, nearly 30 years after his first business venture (selling cherries) Ron states "I am finally doing what I was meant to do.. ...What I have spent whole life time preparing for. Running this company and making it into one of the top real estate companies in the United States!"

 Yet while RE/MAX Central reflects Ron’s progressive business leadership and his commitment to customer satisfaction, he has a qualified staff of professionals to support him and allow him to do what he does best.
